Trio #2 for Flute, Alto Saxophone and Piano - Russell Peterson (2010/11) 3 Movement work ca. 13 min. Originally for Viola, Sax and Piano. Premiered with Violist Kate Hamilton, and pianist Jay Hersberger in Sept. 2010. First mvt. influenced by Astor Piazzola. Very groovy and rhythmic. Lovely, lyric second mvt. featuring Alto Flute, and very fast 3rd mvt. Extended altissimo for saxophonist required! Grade 4.
